The Logic layer is where your app comes to life. It’s the brain behind your work app, powering smart agents, automated processes, and workflows—all built through simple conversations with Ella.
Every app in Blocks is made up of three layers:
Design – What people see: customizable interfaces for each role, with built-in databases.
Logic – The workflows and AI agents that automate tasks, connect to systems, and generate insights.
Data – A built-in database that powers your app and provides agents with full context.
How to Build and Edit the Logic Layer
It starts with a conversation. When you tell Ella what you need (your very first message), she automatically creates all three layers—Design, Logic, and Data.
From there, you can:
Edit with Ella: Continue refining your Logic layer together, just like you would the Design layer.
Customize yourself: Click, drag, connect, or disconnect to adjust workflows and automation exactly as you want.
We encourage you to learn the basics of building on your own. That way, collaborating with Ella feels seamless and intuitive.
Logic Building Blocks
The Logic layer is made up of four key building blocks:
Agents – Your AI teammates. They take action, automate work, and help you move faster.
Triggers – The “when this happens” part of your workflow. Examples: when someone submits a form or every Monday at 9 AM.
Actions – The “then do this” part. Actions specify what should happen when a trigger occurs—like research a lead and send an email or analyze data and create a report.
Tools – The abilities and external connections you give to Agents and Actions. Examples include access to email, calendars, web search, or speech-to-text.
When Ella builds your Logic layer, she sets up Agents, Triggers, Actions, and Tools automatically. But everything is fully customizable - you’re always in control.
